Flamingoes

Well, ok. Not Flamingos, but the 'odd couple' birds that are so different, yet are of the same species and seen everywhere in Patagonia. My bird species researcher says that this is a mated pair of Upland Geese.

Here we go. They came to town, apparently have settled in to stay. The townsfolk love it.

At first, when I squished my way closer, finding the dryest parts of the lake bed, they quietly stalked away from me, never stopping feeding. They seemd not very worried.

Then, once I settled-in and did not move, they came closer again. Still, this was as close as I could get, and you can see why, and had to close the distance with the tele lens.

A couple of cute picknickers on a lovely spring Sunday afternoon.
